Final meeting: Monday 11th May 1903
The Irish town of Tullamore, county town of County Offaly, first held races as early as 1766 when a full five day meeting was staged between Monday 22nd and Friday 26th September 1766. On the opening day the Purse was won by Trunnion owned by Mr Boarman. Almost a century later races were taking place on the Ballykilmurry course, two miles out of town, on Thursday 19th May 1864 which were Stewarded by Mr J P Hennessy. The meeting featured the Tullamore Free Handicap which was won by Signal owned by Captain Beresford. Meetings continued to be well supported until a final meeting on Monday 11th May 1903. |
